A long-time illustrator and cartoonist, Laura finished her career in children's publishing to focus on writing and drawing for such comics and institutions as The Beano, MAD Magazine and Harvard University. Her strips include Johnny Bean from Happy Bunny Green, Les Pretend and Ratz.

Laura was sitting at Hunt Emerson's table, talking with both Hunt and Lew Stringer. I took the chance to get another sketch from her to accompany her first one from the Bristol convention last year. Then, she was on the DC Thompson table signing with a number of other artists and drew me characters from her Beano strip. This time, she drew me the characters from her DFC strip, The Mighty M, about three aspiring rock stars. (Bristol International Comics Expo 2009)

My final drawing from the DC Thompson table that day - a sketch from Laura's stop Johnny Bean from Happy Bunny Green. Laura's drawn a number of strips for The Beano and will be contributing to The DFC as well. (Bristol International Comics Expo 2008) |
