 I hadn't seen Dave's stand at the recent Bristol convention so it was great to stumble across him at Birmingham 2007! From the first moment I saw his Springheeled Jack book, I knew I was going to buy it - right up my street! It's a really fun mix of Victorian gothic and an alien invasion story that could perhaps do with more issues to fill out the story, although that's certainly true of many comics that have been made on a limited budget. Dave took up the challenge of my banner sketches and drew the alien on top of a London church spire. We had a really good chat about his projects and the Hollywood interest in SHJ so perhaps this'll be the first of many drawings! (Birmingham International Comic Show 2007)
 Update 12/10/2008: I saw Dave again at the 2008 Birmingham Comic Show and he took the opportunity to embelish his drawing with more detail and shading. Therefore, I've replaced his banner with the new version, although the original is still available to look at on this entry. |
